Google Ads Management for UK Businesses

Our Google Ads management helps UK businesses get calls and enquiries from people searching right now, not just clicks. As a certified Google Partner, we build and run campaigns targeted to the towns and postcodes you actually serve. You own the account, see every penny of spend and get a fixed management fee upfront.

Paid search that brings calls and leads, not just clicks

Google Ads can put your business at the top of Google the same day, but it is easy to waste money. Broad keywords, no negative keywords and no tracking mean you pay for clicks from people looking for jobs, DIY tips or a business in another county. We see accounts like this regularly, and the fix is usually structure rather than more budget.

We build campaigns around the searches that turn into work: specific services, urgent needs and local intent. Every call and form enquiry is tracked, so we can see which keywords and ads bring customers and which only spend money. Then we move budget to what works and cut what does not.

Targeting UK towns, postcodes and service areas

Most local businesses do not want customers from everywhere. A roller shutter installer in the North West or a mobile mechanic in Kent needs ads shown only to people within reach. We target by radius, town, county or postcode district, and exclude areas you do not cover, so your budget goes on customers you can actually serve.

We also schedule ads around when you can answer the phone, adjust bids for mobile searches and write ads that name the areas you cover. For “near me” searches, a well-optimised Google Business Profile linked to your ads account adds your address or service area, reviews and a call button to your ads.

Google Ads campaign types we manage

Different campaign types suit different businesses, and the right mix depends on your goals and budget. For most local service businesses, search campaigns do the heavy lifting because they reach people actively looking for what you do. We only recommend other types when there is a clear reason and enough budget to test them properly.

Management fee, ad spend, the 2% DST fee and VAT explained

Your costs come in two parts. Our management fee is a fixed amount quoted upfront in pounds sterling, with any VAT shown on the quote. Your ad spend is separate and is paid directly to Google on your own card or invoice, so you always see exactly what Google charges. We never mark up your ad spend.

There is one UK-specific cost many owners miss: Google adds a 2% fee to UK ad costs to cover the Digital Services Tax. It appears on your Google invoice on top of your ad spend. How VAT then shows on that invoice depends on your billing settings and VAT registration, so check Google's current Ads Help page on regulatory fees for the latest details.

What happens in your first 30 days

If you already have an account, we start with an audit: wasted spend, missing negative keywords, broken tracking and poor landing pages. If you are new to Google Ads, we set up the account in your name. Either way, we install call and form tracking before spending serious money, because without it nobody can tell what is working.

Next we build or rebuild the campaigns, write the ads and make sure each one lands on a relevant page. If your website does not convert, we build landing pages in-house. The first weeks are about gathering clean data; then we refine keywords, bids and ads based on real enquiries rather than guesses.

Reports you can understand

Every month you get a plain-English report showing what you spent, how many calls and enquiries came in, and the cost per lead. We show which services and areas are performing best, which search terms we have blocked and what we are changing next. No vanity metrics, no hiding behind impressions and click-through rates.

Because the account is yours, you can log in and see everything at any time. If you ever decide to stop working with us, the account, its history and all the data stay with you. As a Google Partner, we are held to Google's standards, but we are accountable to you first.

Why we understand how UK customers find local businesses

The UK economy runs on small firms. At the start of 2025 there were 5.7 million private sector businesses, and 99.2% of them had fewer than 50 employees (GOV.UK, Business population estimates 2025, published October 2025). Most are owner-run: the electrician covering a few towns, the clinic on a high street, the installer working across a county. That is who we build for, not big brands with marketing departments.

Our founder, AJ, has 20 years in marketing and learned the trade inside one of the big media agencies before choosing to work directly with business owners. UK customers search in a recognisable way: they go to Google first, type a service plus a town or postcode, tap a “near me” result on Google Maps, read the reviews, then call from their phone. Each step is a place you can win or lose the job, and we plan your marketing around every one of them.

We work with UK businesses remotely by WhatsApp, email and video call, with calls arranged around your working day. We do not have a UK office, and we will not pretend otherwise. Our UK client Ultra Doors Security, which supplies security doors, roller shutters and industrial doors across North West England, is a good example of the trades and service-area businesses we understand best: firms that cover a region, not a single shopfront.

Frequently asked questions

How much should a small business spend on Google Ads in the UK?

There is no single right number, because click costs vary hugely by trade and area. We look at what clicks cost for your services where you work, how many enquiries you need and what a customer is worth to you, then recommend a starting budget. You can change it at any time, since you control the spend.

How much do you charge to manage Google Ads?

We charge a fixed management fee, quoted upfront in pounds sterling with any VAT shown. Your ad spend is separate and paid directly to Google. There are no hidden fees and we never take a cut of your ad spend.

How quickly will I get leads from Google Ads?

Ads can start showing within days of launch, so many businesses see enquiries quickly. The first few weeks are also a learning period while we gather data on which keywords and ads convert. Results usually improve as we cut waste and put more budget behind what works.

Do I own my Google Ads account?

Yes. The account is set up in your name and billed to your payment method. We are given access to manage it, and if you ever leave, you keep the account with all its history and data.

What is the 2% UK Digital Services Tax fee on Google Ads?

Google adds a 2% fee to UK ad costs to cover the Digital Services Tax. It is charged by Google on top of your ad spend and appears on your Google invoice, not in our management fee. Rules and fees can change, so check Google's current Ads Help page on regulatory operating costs for the latest position.

Is there a minimum contract?

The term is written clearly in your quote, and there is no lock-in beyond it. Because you own the account, ending our work together never means losing your campaigns or data.

Should I use Google Ads or SEO, or both?

Google Ads brings enquiries quickly but stops when you stop paying. SEO takes longer but keeps working over time. Many local businesses use ads for steady leads now while SEO builds, and we will tell you honestly which makes more sense for your budget.

Can you target specific towns or postcodes?

Yes. We can target by radius around your base, by town or county, or by postcode district, and exclude areas you do not cover. That keeps your budget focused on customers you can actually reach and serve.
